Charisma

How can you ‘connect’ with an audience- Think ‘energy’

There are three types of people in business-

  1. Those people who take away energy and enthusiasm from a room- ‘dementors’ if you like Harry Potter.
  2. Those people that leave the energy and enthusiasm the same in the room after they’ve left as it was when they were in the room- ‘Neutrals’ for want of a better expressions
  3. Those people who add energy, and enthusiasm to any room that they are in- Charismatics as they might sometimes be labelled.

We are all capable of being all three ‘types’ and we probably are, every day of our lives.  But wouldn’t it be great to have a conscious choice?  To know that when we want and need to ‘switch it on’ for that important meeting, presentation, or  date, that we can.

Understanding our ‘energy’ and where it is, is a significant element  in building world class personal impact, presentation and networking skill.  Here’s a great video from Patsy Rodenberg, Acting coach to the sainted and starry, about just that subject.

My key outtake-

To be or not to be, isn’t that always the question?

If you’re interested in learning more then see here for her great books on the subject.
